How Does the SkinPen® Precision System Work?
The SkinPen® Precision microneedling treatment creates thousands of microchannels (micro-injuries) to the skin that stimulate the body’s own three-phase wound-repair process.
Phase I: Inflammation is caused when the SkinPen® treatment essentially perforates the skin. This triggers the immune system to increase blood flow and nutrients to the area and remove damaged tissue.
Phase II: During the next phase, the proliferation, and production of fibrous proteins and glycosaminoglycans are rapidly increased. These are essential components of the extracellular matrix needed to give skin its structure.
Phase III: New collagen and tissue replace the wounded areas, leading to smoother, healthier skin.

What to Expect After Your SkinPen® Precision Microneedling Treatment
After numbing cream takes effect on the skin, most people report feeling only a mild sensation or vibration from the pen itself. Skin is pink afterward and may feel like a mild sunburn. This almost always resolves within a day or two. We will also provide you with soothing aftercare to aid the recovery process.
