Dermaplaning

(hair removal, exfoliation)

We understand that sometimes skin needs extra attention. Makeup may cling to fine, vellus hair, and dead skin cells can build up causing the skin to look dull. Been Facial Plastics is delighted to provide dermaplaning treatments for our patients. Safe for all skin tones, this treatment requires no downtime and leaves behind a radiant, and smooth as a glass surface.

How Does Dermaplaning Work?

During a dermaplaning treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and then gently exfoliated with a surgical scalpel, manually removing the top layers of the stratum corneum as well as vellus hairs to reveal smoother, hair-free skin. This is followed by a calming masque and medical-grade skin care. Skin is left glowing with no downtime.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning treatments can be a standalone treatment or can seamlessly be incorporated with other treatments such as our Hydrafacial™ Elite (fantastic right before your party or event!) or chemical peels. If you have any of the following concerns, your skin could benefit from dermaplaning:

  • Fine, vellus hair
  • Dull skin
  • Sensitive skin
  • Pregnant yet desiring more exfoliation
  • Pigmented acne scars

What Sets Dr. Mark & Geeta Been Apart?

As dermaplaning requires no downtime and can be performed on all skin colors, Drs. Geeta and Mark Been are confident that dermaplaning can be beneficial for almost any patient desiring smoother skin. Treatments can be performed on their own or combined on the same day with other procedures performed in-office.

What to Expect After Your Dermaplaning Treatment

During treatment, most people only feel the skin being pulled taut and a mild scrapping sensation. Those with sensitive skin may be slightly pink afterward. This typically resolves within a few hours. Dermaplaning may be repeated as frequently as every two weeks.

Our expert staff is happy to evaluate your skin and devise a treatment plan for you!
