These days, patients enjoy a variety of surgical and non-surgical options to remove wrinkles and rejuvenate their facial appearance. Despite the many choices, a cornerstone treatment to create a refreshed look is the injection of Botox and other neuromodulators.
Neuromodulators are designed to intentionally prevent muscles from contracting. This helps to soften wrinkles and smooth facial skin. The result is a happier, rested appearance.
Botox® is FDA-approved for the following facial regions:
- Glabella lines: The vertical and horizontal lines that form in the area between the eyebrows. People sometimes refer to these lines as frown lines or “11’s.”
- Lateral periorbital lines: The creases that form around your eyes when squinting or smiling.
- Horizontal forehead lines: The wrinkles that form by raising your eyebrows.
Is Botox® and Neuromodulation Right for You?
Candidates for Botox® and other neuromodulators display the following features:
- Frown lines between the brows
- Horizontal brow furrows
- Heavy brows
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Bunny lines in the upper nasal area
- Horizontal forehead creases

What to Expect after your Botox® procedure
Following the procedure, there is no down time and you may re-apply makeup to your face if you wish. Bruising may occur, but is generally mild. To reduce the risk of bruising, we ask that you do not use any blood-thinning products (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) one week before the injections. Some patients experience mild swelling for 24 hours.
Results will start to show within two to three days. By 10-14 days, the effect is at full strength, and you will be able to enjoy the wonderful results. Results generally last for three to four months.
