One of the telltale signs of facial aging is wrinkles. Multiple studies suggest that a person’s perceived age is most significantly correlated with a patient’s skin quality. Because of the ever-increasing demand for smooth, youthful skin, there are a number of options to revitalize the skin. For highly damaged skin, or people looking for a dramatic change, the Hetter chemical peel is a fantastic option.
The peel works by removing the outer damaged layer of skin, and simultaneously stimulating the deeper layers of skin to regenerate new collagen, forming a new upper layer of skin.

We welcome you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mark so he can discuss treatment options and find the right procedure to meet your needs.
This procedure is performed in the comfort of our own surgical center, meaning you experience the utmost privacy and ease during your time with us. We also have the ability, on the same day, to combine the Hetter chemical peel with other facial procedures including eyelid and nasal surgery.
What to Expect after your Chemical Peel
Patients are frequently worried about pain with this procedure. To the contrary, most patients only perceive mild discomfort for the first six to eight hours, but this is controlled with pain medication. Swelling and skin peeling begin within the first 24 hours and will continue for the next seven to ten days. After this time, new skin has healed over your face. After the first week, makeup can be used to cover the face, which will have a pink coloration resembling a sunburn. Final results will be seen after two to four months due to the continued production of new collagen in the skin.
Patients must avoid significant sun exposure for the first two months after the procedure. Daily application of sunscreen is also recommended for best results. This peel is usually only needed one time; however, developing a regular routine for skin care involving sun avoidance and sunscreen application will minimize further skin aging. Our team can help you develop a skin care regimen to optimize your results.
